From the boat, we’ll see many impressive rock structures and we’ll be greeted again by the spinner dolphins hanging around this area. If you’re lucky, you’ll see them jumping from the water and you’ll know where they get their name from.

  • Shoab beach is ideal to chill on the beach, go for a swim and just enjoy the views

  • After a chill beach morning, the boat will bring us back to our private campsite for lunch, next to blue lagoon. In the afternoon we can do a visit to the town of Qalansiyah

Day 8

  • One last sunrise over Detwah lagoon and then we start packing up camp to head back to the airport.

  • On the way to the airport we’ll pass by some old Russian tanks, dating back to the WWII. The perfect spot for a goodbye selfie.

  • Unfortunately, this is where your amazing trip comes to and end. Don’t worry though, these memories will last a lifetime 🫶

Important Notes:

  • Trip itinerary is subject to change without notice

  • Although we try our best to accommodate food allergies and requests, we are not always able to do so, especially in certain countries. Our private chef uses mostly fresh ingredients to cook a tasty meal 3 times a day, otherwise items will come from cans. We are on a remote island, so not everything is available. However, we can get fresh locally-caught fish (sustainably caught through line fishing) and free-range chicken every day. This will be complimented with rice or pasta and some vegetables. Add some seasoning and freshly baked bread with eggs & beans in the morning.

  • You'll be visiting a developing country, roads can be long and bumpy, please bring your patience and positive mind!

  • Please be mindful and respectful when taking photos. It is prohibited to take photographs of women in Socotra

Frequently asked questions:

DSC04156.jpg

1

Where is Socotra located?

Socotra is a remote island in the Arabian Sea, about 150 miles (240 km) east of the Horn of Africa and roughly 240 miles (380 km) south of mainland Yemen. Although it's part of Yemen, the island has its own unique culture, landscapes, and wildlife, with over a third of its plant species found nowhere else on Earth. Its isolation has earned it the nickname "the Galápagos of the Indian Ocean."

2

Is Socotra safe to visit?

Most travelers fly into Abu Dhabi (UAE), where our group will meet before departing together on the direct flight to Socotra.

Once you book your spot, we'll provide a detailed pre-departure guide with recommended flights, timing, visa information, and everything you need to make getting there as easy as possible. From the moment you arrive in Socotra, we'll take care of all transportation for the rest of the trip.

3

How do you get to Socotra?

Most travelers fly into Abu Dhabi (UAE), where our group will meet before departing together on the direct flight to Socotra.

Once you book your spot, we'll provide a detailed pre-departure guide with recommended flights, timing, visa information, and everything you need to make getting there as easy as possible. From the moment you arrive in Socotra, we'll take care of all transportation for the rest of the trip.

4

Do I need a visa?

Yes. All international visitors need a visa to enter Socotra. The good news is that you won't need to navigate the process on your own—we'll arrange your visa for you as part of your trip. All you'll need to do is send us a copy of your passport after booking, and we'll guide you through the rest of the process. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.

5

What are accommodations like?

We use the iconic Al-Qadi tents, which are more adapted to the Socotra weather than the standard Quechua tents (which are cheaper and widely used on the island by the other agencies). The Al-Qadi tents have 4 windows and allow for more ventilation. Remember, Socotra can get very hot and stuffy during the touristy season.

Your tent will be set up for you by our team. Full service!

6

Should I bring cash?

You can exchange cash in the city with our expert guide. At the end of the trip I always recommend tipping anywhere between $10-$20 a day for our guide and the same for our driver but of course this is totally your choice!

7

Is there cell service or Wi-Fi?

Cell service in Socotra is very limited and can be unreliable throughout the island. While you may find a signal in a few areas, you should plan to be mostly offline for the duration of the trip.

We view this as part of the experience—a chance to disconnect from your phone and reconnect with nature, adventure, and the people around you. If you need to let family or friends know you'll be out of touch, we recommend doing so before arriving.

Our guides carry satellite communication devices for emergencies, so your safety is always our priority. There's also some wifi at our campsites!

8

Can I swim at the beaches?

Absolutely! There are plenty of opportunities to swim throughout the adventure. We'll visit natural infinity pools, crystal-clear freshwater canyons, and beautiful beaches where you can cool off. Weather and conditions permitting, you'll also have the chance to snorkel in the protected waters of Dihamri Marine Reserve, one of Socotra's best marine ecosystems. We recommend bringing a swimsuit, towel, and water shoes so you're ready to jump in whenever the opportunity arises.

9

What should I pack?

Here are the essentials we recommend:

  • Passport (valid for at least 6 months)

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing

  • A warm layer for cooler evenings

  • Comfortable hiking shoes or trail runners

  • Sandals or water shoes

  • Swimsuit

  • Hat and sunglasses

  • Reef-safe sunscreen

  • Insect repellent

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Small daypack for daily adventures

  • Headlamp or flashlight

  • Portable power bank

  • Camera (you'll definitely want one!)

  • Personal medications and toiletries

  • Quick-dry towel

  • Dry bag (recommended for boat rides and electronics)

"This trip was truly a life-changing experience. I had no idea what to expect walking in and I was nervous I wouldn't connect with anyone. Instead, I made amazing connections and life-long friendships because of this trip for which I am truly grateful for. Thank you Bree!”

Danielle

"Bree’s group trip was so AMAZINGGGG! The entire group and everything was so well put together and planned out. Going to Italy and exploring the Dolomites was always a dream of mine. I am so grateful that I got to share my experience there with amazing humans. Absolutely one of my favorite trips to date"

Peter
@peterbotticelli

"Amazing. The hardest part about a group of people doing something together will always be anticipating the group dynamics.

You and team absolutely nailed this Bree! If you told me that the 14 of us would go seamlessly from strangers to family inside of a week, I would have never believed it.

There will always be little bumps or carsickness curves on the road, not enough magic blue gas water in the tank, missed flights, and all the rest, but it only adds to the magic of the adventure when you get to share it with a truly special group of humans!"

JAckie
@jackiejpark

20/10 so glad I went. I had never done a group trip before so I was really nervous and out of my comfort zone.

Pushing yourself out of your norm is where the magic happens. I never knew you could fall in love with a group strangers so quickly.

By the end of the trip, we felt like family. A lot of us still keep in contact over a year later. If you’ve ever been curious about a group trip or want to dip your toes into solo travel, this is the one you should do! Bree’s vibes attracts an incredible tribe and you will make lifelong friends, laugh until you cry and explore the most beautiful places without the stress of having to plan and navigate.

Take the leap, you’ll be so glad you did!

This trip was purely magical. We still don’t know if it was the Icelandic Gods or the group energy, but everyday was filled with wonder and absolute awe. Best of all, you build lifelong soul friendships as you explore the enchanting landscapes of the country. Impatiently waiting for more group trip announcements!
